Cockney rhyming slang

Cockney slang is a way of playing with words and with the foreginer. It is typical of the East London, and consists basically in changing the word (sister, look, thief, wife, stairs, mate, face…) for a couple of words that sound similar and rhyme with the omitted word (tea leaf, apples and pears, skin and blister, china plate…)
